In this easy DIY craft tutorial, we are going to show you a creative finishing idea for your dotted diamond painting canvas: make a sparkling, embellished fanny pack. Take a look at how to do it – it’s quite easy! And a fantastic way to show off a finished diamond painting canvas.

MATERIALS YOU'LL NEED TO MAKE A DIAMOND PAINTING FANNY PACK
- Finished Diamond Dotz® diamond painting kit canvas (we used Midnight Cat)
- Dotz® Stick brush-on adhesive
- Dotz® Guard sealant
- Paint brush
- Scissors
- Palette (we used a ceramic plate)
- Fanny pack (or other bag/accessory)
PREPARING YOUR DIAMOND PAINTING CANVAS
The placement of your design on the fanny pack is a personal thing. Decide which part of your diamond painting will be the focal point – this really depends on the design you are using. The Midnight Cat lends itself to this project and is easy to place because it's a partial-drill diamond painting (meaning the canvas is not fully covered) and we want that fabulous feline face to be at the center of the fanny pack.
Once you’ve looked at your design and decided how you want it to be placed, cut the bottom of the dotted design where you want it to start on your bag. Next, place the trimmed design over your bag and position it in place. Use your finger to follow the seams of the fanny pack, and remove a dot or make a mark on the canvas to create a cutting guide for the rest of the design. Cut following this guide.
ADHERING THE DIAMOND PAINTING CANVAS
Squeeze some Dotz® Stick onto a palette. Load your brush and apply the adhesive to the back of the canvas.
Apply a thick even coat, or two thinner coats using even brush strokes. Let dry in between coats. The canvas is ready to apply to the fanny pack when the adhesive is clear and tacky.
Place the diamond painting over the fanny pack and position in place as planned. Press down all sections of the diamond painting design, to secure the canvas to the pack.
PROTECTING YOUR DIAMOND ART ON THE GO
Squeeze some Dotz® Guard onto a palette. Load your brush and apply the adhesive to the top of the canvas.
Apply a thick even coat, or two thinner coats, letting in dry in between coats. The Dotz® Guard seals and protects the diamond painting.
